SHAKTI: A User-Friendly App for Women's Safety
SHAKTI is a free Android application launched by Saanjh Punjab Police India, highly recommended for women's safety. To start using this app, the user needs to register and enter the registration key (OTP) received after successful registration. Once the user raises an SOS alert from the app, the location information is immediately transmitted to Punjab Police control room and their predefined numbers. The police can then send the nearest help to the victim.
SHAKTI app is user-friendly and easy to adapt, with features like providing the user's location information, including latitude, longitude, and street address. It also provides contact numbers of all the nearest police stations' SHO officers to the public. Additionally, the police can send notifications to the public through this app. The app also has a help button, which is a one-touch alert to notify the Punjab police and the user's guardians.
